There are longtime customers… and then there's David Holyfield.

David has been supporting G8Only for years, and with more than 50 orders and over $30,000 in parts, saying he's trusted us with his build would be a pretty massive understatement.

At this point, it might honestly be easier to list the parts of his G8 that didn't come through us.

We're talking everything from the little things like head gaskets all the way to Weld wheels, Mickey Thompson tires, a 15-inch conversion, BMR suspension, Pedders suspension, Circle D transmission components and converter, PRC heads, DSX goodies, a full exhaust system, and an absolutely ridiculous amount of supporting hardware along the way.

And the result?

The car is a beast.

But what makes David stand out isn't just the size of the build or the amount of money he's spent. After working with somebody through more than 50 separate orders, you get a pretty damn good idea of the kind of customer—and person—they are.

David is simply a great dude. He's loyal, easy to work with, passionate about his car, and has continued trusting G8Only every time the next stage of the build inevitably begins.

Because apparently David's definition of “I think the car is pretty much finished” is:

“I'll place another order tomorrow.”

We're incredibly grateful for the years of support, the trust he's placed in us, and the opportunity to have supplied such a huge part of this build.

Jason's build is one of those projects that started with a perfectly reasonable idea and then got completely out of hand in the best possible way.

He found an exceptionally clean base-model V6 G8 and drove it daily for about a year. Meanwhile, he already had a wrecked G8 GT that he'd purchased for another project.

Eventually the gears started turning.

The V6 chassis was simply too clean not to do something with, so Jason made the completely rational decision to tear apart his perfectly functional daily driver and transplant the GT's entire V8 drivetrain into it.

But Jason didn't just swap in a used drivetrain and call it a day.

The engine and transmission came apart. Everything was rebuilt. And once the project started gaining momentum, “while we're in there…” took over.

The result is a completely transformed G8 with a fresh powerplant, PRC heads, TSP intake manifold, RCR camshaft, Circle D converter, Pedders coilovers, BMR suspension, SOLO exhaust, and a growing list of supporting parts and details that go far beyond a simple V8 conversion.

More than $10k across his orders has gone into the project through us, and watching the car evolve has been awesome.

What impresses us most is that Jason didn't just build something fast. He started with a clean canvas and put together a car that's becoming show-car ready from top to bottom. The attention given to the drivetrain, suspension, appearance, and overall execution makes it feel like a complete build rather than a collection of modifications.

He took a base-model V6 G8 and turned it into the kind of car that makes people stop and ask:

“Wait… this started as WHAT?”

Columbus has been part of the G8Only family since 2018, and after 30+ orders and nearly eight years of working with him, we've had a front-row seat to this G8 becoming something seriously special.

And when we say special, we mean one-of-one.

His 2009 G8 GT is powered by an LT4 supercharger setup, backed by a built L76, Asylum-built 6L80, Circle D 4,000-stall converter, upgraded differential, dual DeatschWerks 420 pumps, FIC 1650cc injectors, upgraded fuel and cooling systems, custom tuning, and a long list of supporting modifications.

Then there's the rest of the car. Custom one-off front bumper. Custom wheels. Red and black interior. Functional hood vents. Upgraded suspension. And somehow, despite everything that's been done to it, the car remains exceptionally clean and well put together.

A huge portion of the parts that made this build what it is came through G8Only, and Columbus has trusted us with roughly $20,000 worth of parts over the years. That's something we genuinely appreciate.

But the dollar amount isn't why Columbus gets five stars.

He's simply a really good dude to work with. He's been loyal to us for years, takes tremendous pride in his car, buys quality parts, maintains it properly, and has built something that's unmistakably his own.

After 30+ orders, we've also concluded that Columbus suffers from the same condition affecting many longtime G8 owners:

The complete inability to leave the damn thing alone.

Fortunately, we've been more than happy to enable him.

Austin has been with us for over five years, racking up 20+ orders and building one seriously badass Pontiac G8 along the way.

And we're not talking about a car with a couple of bolt-ons and a big dyno number. His turbo G8 makes over 1,000 WHP, and the entire build reflects the amount of pride he takes in the car. It's clean, well thought out, and built with quality parts throughout.

Over the years, Austin has trusted us with everything from a full Radium fuel cell and pump system, race wheels and tires, AFCO coilovers and heat exchanger, suspension components, radiator, intake manifold, racing seats, and a whole lot more.

More importantly, he's been incredibly loyal to G8Only. When Austin needs something for the car, there's a pretty damn good chance he's checking with us first—and we don't take that kind of support for granted.

He's exactly the type of enthusiast we love seeing in the G8 community: constantly improving the car, taking pride in every detail, and apparently possessing absolutely no ability to leave well enough alone.
